Vegan in Philly
Two weekends ago my boyfriend took me to Philly for my birthday. It was our first time in this magical city of vegan food. Amazing history, architecture, people & nature. All in all a really special place. The thing that blew me away was the food. A vegans paradise! Definitely not stuff we would eat everyday, but when I celebrated 30, I celebrated with food. Here is a rundown of our favorites...
Hip City Veg / Lunch / Buffalo Bella & Crispy Hip City Ranch
Not pictured: Groothie (Kale & fruit smoothie)
Reminded us of Veggie Grill in Cali. Really tasty, pretty heavy. Definitely a treat.
Blackbird Pizzeria / Dinner / mushroom & veggie sausage pizza
Not pictured: caesar salad with artichokes & cuban sandwich
We died here.
Govindas / Lunch / Chicken Philly Cheese Steak
So big we split it. A lot of friends recommended Govindas. We had a hard time choosing what to get. But when in Philly, get the namesake (as you can see it was so good, I forgot to take a picture 'til it was almost gone). The sandwiches are huge. We split.
Mi Lah Vegetarian / Brunch / vegan omelet & sausage biscuit & gravy
Yes, a vegan omelet! It seemed like it was flour-based but it was creative & delish. We also at dinner here. Yes, it was so good we came back twice in one weekend. Really inventive dinner menu with a beautiful and inventive appetizer platter.
We'll definitely be back. Next time for more than a weekend!
