Awaken Detox Smoothie Recipe & Gypsy Sisters 7-day Detox

I don't know about you, but from time to time I get burnt out on smoothies. I love the way they make me feel, but sometimes I'm looking for more excitement on the home-front. I recently had fresh juice at my friend Annette's while preparing for our Gypsy Sisters 7-day detox this Sunday & it had organic orange juice, kale, ginger & strawberries. It made me feel alive! I've adapted it into a tasty smoothie that is velvety, tasty, high in vitamin c & will get some pep in your step. Clean food from the earth with no refine or animal ingredients is sure to detox the body. Feel free to play with this recipe and tailor it to suit your needs.


1 peeled orange

1 frozen banana

1/4 fresh avocado

2 stalks of kale, chard or collards de-stemmed

1 knob of ginger peeled, chopped

1/2 c frozen berries (I used blueberries)

1 cup of water

optional: 1 tsp flax seeds, 1tsp chia seeds, 1/2 tsp hemp seeds, 1/2 tsp maca powder


1)When my bananas are about to cross over to the afterlife, rather than tossing them, I peel, quarter & freeze them in a tupperware.

2) When I am at the market and see a sale for berries, I'll buy them fresh and freeze them myself.


1) add all ingredients to blender

2) hit the button & blend to desired consistency

3) drink & smile!
